Audition repertoire: 1st ROUND OF AUDITION:
a) Solo repertoire:
J. S. BACH: Cello Suites No. 4, 5 or 6 (BWV 1010 – 1012) – one Prealudium
HAYDN: Concerto for Violoncello and Orchestra in D major – exposition of the 1st Movement

b) Orchestral excerpts:
STRAUSS: Don Juan, symphonic poem
SMETANA: My Country – Vyšehrad

2nd ROUND OF THE AUDITION:
a) Solo repertoire:
1/ HAYDN: Cello Concerto in D major – 1st and 2nd Movement with cadenzas of M. Gendron
2/ One of the following composition:
DVOŘÁK: Concerto for Cello and Orchestra in B minor – 1st and 2nd Movement
SCHUMANN: Concerto for Cello and Orchestra in A minor – 1st and 2nd Movement
ČAJKOVSKIJ: Rococo Variations – complete

b) Orchestral solos:
BRAHMS: Concerto for Piano and Orchestra No. 2
ROSSINI: William Tell
SUPPÉ: Poet and Peasant
HAYDN: Paukenmesse
RIMSKY-KORSAKOV: Scheherazade
VERDI: Don Carlo – Aria of King Philip

c) Orchestral excerpts:
SMETANA: The Bartered Bride – Overture
BEETHOVEN: Symphony No. 5 in C minor – 2nd and 3rd Movement
TCHAIKOVSKY: Symphony No. 6 in B minor – 2nd Movement
DVOŘÁK: Symphony No. 8 in G major – 1st Movement

Accompanist: Piano accompaniment in concertos is mandatory. The application must indicate whether the applicant requests the piano accompaniment to be provided by the Slovak State Philharmonic Košice or if they will arrange their own accompanist.
