1.At least 1 year of professional training or research experience related to the position, with documented accomplishments.
2. At least 2 years of significant work experience directly related to the position.
(ii) Bachelor’s degree, and meeting one of the following criteria: 
1. At least 2 years of professional training or research experience related to the position, with documented accomplishments. 
2. At least 4 years of significant work experience directly related to the position.

Additional salary information
(i) For ROC (Taiwan) nationals, each point is equivalent to NT$165.3, resulting in a monthly salary between NT$54,218 and NT$70,087. 
(ii) For foreign nationals, each point is equivalent to NT$206.2, resulting in a monthly salary between NT$67,633 and NT$87,428.

Please download the enrollment forms and the orchestral excerpts from the our website, fill in the application forms, attach relevant documents (such as diplomas) and send them by registered mail to the Personnel Office of the National Taiwan Symphony Orchestra, located at No. 738-2, Zhongzheng Rd., Wufeng Dist., Taichung City 41341, Taiwan (R.O.C). Please indicate on the envelope “Application for Principal Timpanist".
Application instructions

 Audition methods and schedule:
(i)Deadline for enrollment: From now until 17:00, August 7th, 2026 (GMT+8, based on the receipt time by the NTSO)
(ii)Preliminary round: All applicants will undergo an initial screening based on their submitted documents to verify eligibility.
(iii)Video-recording round: Only those who pass the preliminary round will proceed to the video screening stage. All applicants will be notified of their screening results by August 21th, 2026. Applicants who pass the video screening will advance to the live audition.
(iv)Live audition: The live audition will be scheduled on September 7th, 2026. Candidates who pass this stage will proceed to the concert performances and final interview with the NTSO Director.
(v)Concert performance and interview with the NTSO Director: Candidates who pass the live audition will perform a concert program (two performances, including rehearsals 8th~10th September) with the orchestra, scheduled for 11th and 12th September , 2026, at Weiwuying Concert Hall and National Taichung Theater. Following the performances, the candidate will be evaluated by a professional review committee. A result of “Accepted,” subject to final approval by the NTSO Director, will constitute a formal offer of appointment.
