Website

It began its activities with the inauguration of the Gorzów Philharmonic, in May 2011. The Orchestra’s successive artistic directors were Piotr Borkowski (March 2011 — October 2012), Monika Wolińska (April 2013 — April 2017), and Jacek Kraszewski (September 2017 — December 2020). Since July 2021, the Orchestra has been under the artistic directorship of Przemysław Fiugajski.

Since its inception, the Orchestra has performed an ambitious and varied repertoire — from baroque to contemporary music. During the ten seasons, it has performed with many world-renowned artists, playing under the baton of such eminent conductors as, among others, Krzysztof Penderecki, Jerzy Maksymiuk, Kazimierz Kord, Tadeusz Strugała, Antoni Wit, Tadeusz Wojciechowski, and Wojciech Rajski. It has accompanied such celebrities as Maxim Vengerov, Thomas Hampson, Soyoung Yoon, Ivan Monighetti, Adam Makowicz, Agata Szymczewska, Konstanty Andrzej Kulka, Małgorzata Walewska, Agnieszka Rehlis, Iwona Hossa, Natalie Choquette, Krzysztof Jakowicz, Kaja Danczowska, Janusz Wawrowski, Piotr Paleczny and Ewa Pobłocka.

The orchestra has also performed many times with jazz and pop artists, such as Leszek Możdżer, Włodek Pawlik, Jarek Śmietana, Henryk Miśkiewicz, Jose Torres, Irena Santor, Grzegorz Turnau, Mieczysław Szcześniak and Marcin Wyrostek. It has also cooperated with the composers Jan A.P. Kaczmarek (Transatlantic Festival) and Radzimir Dębski (the Hip Hop Symphonically project with the participation of Miuosh, one of Poland’s most important rappers), and given concerts at the Woodstock Festival, where it played with Michał Jelonek (2014) and the American rock band Dead Daisies (2017).

The orchestra has released three albums:  Sibelius, Tchaikovsky — Violin Concerto, recorded together with the violinist Soyoung Yoon (2012),  Bronislaw Kaper / Jan A.P. Kaczmarek — Meeting (2015), and The album Malawski — Palester. A Vestige Preserved (2022).
