1st ROUND OF THE AUDITION:
a) Solo repertoire:
J. S. BACH: Suites for Cello Solo (transcription for double bass) – one movement freely chosen
One of the following concertos - exposition of the 1st movement:
DRAGONETTI: Concerto in A major for Double Bass and Orchestra
KOUSSEVITZKY: Concerto in F sharp minor for Double Bass and Orchestra
BOTTESINI: Concerto in B minor for Double Bass and Orchestra
DITTERS VON DITTERSDORF: Concerto in E major for Double Bass and Orchestra
b) Orchestral excerpts:
Mahler: Symphony No. 1 – 3rd Movement (solo)
SMETANA: The Bartered Bride – Overture

2nd ROUND OF THE AUDITION:
a) Solo repertoire:
One of the following concertos – 1st and 2nd movement:

Additional audition information
Piano accompaniment in concertos is mandatory. The application must indicate whether the applicant requests the piano
accompaniment to be provided by the Slovak State Philharmonic Košice or if they will arrange their own accompanist. In case
the applicant requests an accompanist from the Slovak State Philharmonic Košice, they should also send information about the
selected concertos along with their application (or provide, upon request, a scan/copy of the piano parts). Applicants may perform
from sheet music.
